The diagnosis journey

Whatever stage you're at, DLF is here to support your whole family.

First steps

The journey often begins with a visit to a GP or A&E because of persistent symptoms. If a brain tumour is suspected, your child will be referred to a specialist.

Tests & scans

Imaging such as an MRI or CT scan helps doctors see the tumour. Further tests may follow to understand its type and grade.

The care team

Your child will be cared for by a multidisciplinary team (MDT) β€” which may include oncologists, surgeons, nurses, and allied health professionals, all working together.

Planning care

The team will discuss a care plan with you. This is a good time to lean on support β€” emotionally and practically. DLF is here at every step.
