Who We Are

The London Borough of Hillingdon Mayor's Chosen Charity - 2022/23.

Who We Are?

The Daniella Logun Foundation (DLF) is a niche childhood cancer support charity established in memory of Daniella Logun who passed away from a brain tumour in 2016, aged 12.  With each passing year, we realise time does not stand still but photographs do and their quality fades over time.  Thanks to the power of AI technology, our graphic artist Chris has created this image on the left, as a gift for us to share with the world - a living and longer-lasting vision of our beautiful Dannie.

We offer holistic wellbeing support to Children & Young People diagnosed with brain tumours, other cancers and their families, living in Hillingdon & the surrounding areas.

We are a pioneering service set up out of the lived experience and the lessons learned from Dannie's palliative care journey.  We aim to close some of the gaps in the palliative care service by offering holistic wellbeing support to children diagnosed with cancer and their families, such that was not available to Daniella and her family when she was diagnosed.  We understand the complex social, emotional, spiritual wellbeing challenges faced by our Children and Young People diagnosed with brain tumours, other cancers and their families and this is one of the reasons our service is unique.

We do not work alone but partner with existing organisations across the voluntary, health, community, social enterprises (VHCSE), and the local authority to offer the child and their family the emotional, spiritual, practical and physical wellbeing support they need to help them cope with and better care for their child post diagnosis.  We were one of the London Borough of Hillingdon's Mayor's Chosen Charities, Brunel University Volunteers Department Chosen Charity of the Year and Metro Bank Charity of the Year in 2022/2023.

"I have heard both Angela & Terry's experiences, both positive and negative, of their journey from diagnosis to Daniella’s sad passing, and I am convinced that there is so much that can be done to improve this process for others in the same position."

Our promise

To support your child & family wellbeing from diagnosis onwards - you are not alone.

Post COVID-19 Recovery

The Covid-19 pandemic significantly & disproportionately impacted our Children and Young People diagnosed with brain tumours and their families.  Lockdown added overwhelming pressure to the already challenging & vulnerable circumstances of our children & their families.  For many, this meant greater uncertainty, isolation, wellbeing neglect and disruption to their child's treatment and care.  Family members passed away from the virus, school was cancelled, friendships were disconnected, smaller social bubbles were enforced and close physical interaction was restricted. We need your help to grow the DLF to reach more children and their families and help them re-discover ways of rebuilding life post-Covid19?  Your support will help us ensure our children and their families are not left at breaking point!
